Post 8: Career-related website

Hi! Everyone, today i will talk about a anthropology related website. As you know, I’m an anthropology student at the University of Chile, since 2017, so I’m quite new in this field but, I am very interested and excited  in this career.

In this respect, there is a website that i discovered a couple of years ago, when i became interested in anthropology, the website is called “El antropólogo principiante” or ‘The beginner anthropologist’ in English. This is a very interesting blog; it belongs to a former student of anthropology from Spain, specifically from the UNED University (Universidad Nacional de Educación a Distancia) in Madrid.

 The blog tells the experience of the author, Juan, after having studied 4 years of anthropology.

 He wrote about his experiences studying the career, also he explains why he left the career after 4 years!!!  OMG. But the most interesting part about the website, are the many sections that you can find, the author talks about different topics (very interesting current issues  related with anthropology) you can find this topics in the “articles” section!. Also, there’s a section dedicated to a collection of Blogs, Journals, Associations and Websites related to Anthropology and its different specialties. There’s another section dedicated to a few interviews from others anthropologists who write blogs too! 

 You can find so much more on the blog, everything with a good sense of humor from the author that makes a little bit fun the anthropology!

There are the many reasons why i like the website (like the ones that i mentioned), i definitely recommend it, although I haven't visited much lately,  before i did it more often :(

The best concert i've been to: Blur

For me, music is an important part of my life,  i've been in many concerts, in fact, the last concert that i went, was in March of this year.  If i had to talk about "The best concert i've been to" i couldn't make just one choice, it's so difficult to me because i've been in the concerts of my favourite band's and singer! However, today i'm going to talk you about my first concert of my favourite band ever.  One of my very best concert experience was seeing "Blur" for the first time in Santiago on November of 2013. It was the first time of the band in Chile. If you don't know, Blur is a famous British band, icon of the "britpop" of the nineties, his singer is the famous songwriter Damon Albarn (singer of "Gorillaz" too). If you like to dance, melancholy, joy and a lot of emotions, Blur is for you!!! Post 5: My Future Job

Think about the future is a thing that doesn’t work so much for me… As you know, today I’m an anthropologist student, so I guess that my future job will be guided in this particular line. Although i’m not 100% sure of what major subject I’m going to choose (Social Anthropology or Archaeology) I would like to imagine a job where I can be “free”. In others words,   work outdoors, out of the city, perhaps   with communities of people, having an impact in their lives and help them and contribute to "create a better world to live". I wouldn’t like an academic job where I’ll spend all day in an office behind a computer, I would like to be with different types of communities or investigate extinct societies. As I said, I can’t choose between Social Anthropology or Archaeology because I’m interested in both specialties, if it were possible to do both things at the same time, I would do it!... Post 7: Wild animals and pets

Hi everyone! In today's post, i would like to talk about wild animals and pets. First of all, i want to ask you something, do you consider yourself an animal lover? why? If you had asked me this cuestion a few years ago -five years ago probably- i probably woud have answered "not so much". You will wonder why i used to think that way? This is because, when i was a kid i never had a pet. I used to play with my cousin's dog but one day, he bit me really hard, so from that time i was very afraid about dogs and animals in general.  But now, if you ask me that, i definitely consider myself as an animal lover! I'm saying this because i met some people, like my boyfriend, who's open their heart to show me their pets and it was a beautiful and magic oportunity to me. Me, as an animal lover today, i totally disagree with the use of animals of medical researh and any type of animal cruelty. I don't think that the human being should make use of animals for
